On 9 September 2026, Dr. Oliver Pragal and our compliance expert Kristina Konrad will speak at a lunchtime session organised by the HAV in cooperation with Schweitzer Fachinformationen at the JohannisContor in Hamburg.
The event will focus on the numerous interconnections between criminal law, compliance cases and other areas of law, as well as the resulting “do’s and don’ts”.
Typical scenarios include:
- cases of breach of trust, corruption, fraud, etc. within companies
- employment law disputes involving criminal allegations
- risks of litigation fraud
- tax (criminal) law implications and legal obligations in the context of commercial criminal law
- fraud risks in M&A transactions
- strategic opportunities and risks of filing criminal complaints
- internal investigations within companies: legal obligations, legal risks, strategic significance and pitfalls
- compliance organisation and liability avoidance
- pursuit of claims following white-collar offences / asset freezing orders (§ 111e StPO) and “recovery assistance” (§§ 459j et seq. StPO)
- joint prosecution (Nebenklage) and adhesion proceedings
The integrated and strategic consideration of these criminal law and compliance-related aspects often leads to a higher quality of advice and avoids unnecessary liability cases. In their joint presentation, Kristina Konrad and Dr. Oliver Pragal will raise awareness of these critical interfaces.
We cordially invite all interested colleagues to use their lunch break for this professional exchange and to sharpen their expertise at the interface between civil and criminal law.
