We are delighted to welcome Maximilian Koch to our team as a Salary Partner, effective 15 July 2026. In him, we gain an experienced criminal defence lawyer who will strengthen our expertise in criminal defence and the provision of criminal law advice to both corporate clients and private individuals.
Mr Koch brings many years of well-founded practical experience from a renowned Hamburg-based law firm specialising in white-collar and corporate tax criminal law. He completed his legal education at the Universities of Freiburg and Münster, followed by his legal traineeship (Referendariat) at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, supplemented by early insights gained at a major international law firm.
Since 2018, Mr Koch has worked intensively as an advocate dealing with complex cases involving criminal tax law and regulatory offences.
Specialisation in Corporate Tax Criminal Law and Victim Representation
In addition to representing clients in demanding white-collar criminal proceedings, Mr Koch specialises in corporate tax criminal law (criminal defence and voluntary self-disclosures) as well as the representation of corporate entities harmed by white-collar crime (pursuit of civil law claims, including asset freezing orders and asset recovery assistance, adhesion proceedings, and private accessory prosecutions).
Both areas of expertise complement our firm’s service portfolio outstandingly.

With the arrival of Maximilian Koch, we are further expanding our advisory services across the entire spectrum of white-collar criminal law to include areas of key importance to our clients.
Following the appointment of Kristina Konrad in December 2025 – a long-standing in-house lawyer and compliance officer – to head the new ‘Compliance & Internal Investigations‘ department, Maximilian Koch now adds two vital advisory fields: corporate tax criminal law and the legal representation of victimised companies.
